What music style do you play?
My main alias for DJing is Bonaventure, where I mix house, deep house, classic house, tech house, techno, dub techno, minimal, disco, edits, jazz and all that good stuff. My alternate alias (and alias for this mix), is HarmonX, whom looks quite strikingly like me. I use it for drum & bass, dubstep, ambient, hip-hop. Sometimes my mixes will cross genres but stay with one name, but that’s infrequent. I try to stay within the boundaries name wise. Music wise, that’s different…
What equipment did you use to create this mix?
Although I am steadily collecting vinyl, I don’t have any turntables/CDJ’s at the moment, so I mixed it on Ableton Live. Yeah, it sort of goes against the Drum & Bass ethic of using vinyl, but it’s substance not process, in my opinion. I wanted to emulate the “Hospital Mix” series, so most of the tracks are either from Hospital Records or by artists related to Hospital.
What is your favourite producer and/or label?
I don’t really have one single favorite producer or label, for that. Some I do like include Moodymann, Rick Wade, Mike Huckaby, Omar S, Henrik Schwarz, Deepchord, Ricardo Villalobos, Cassy, Agnes, 2562, St Germain, Monolake, Marcel Dettmann, Theo Parrish, Kerri Chandler, Shackleton, Basic Channel, DJ Koze, Cobblestone Jazz, Pepe Bradock, Aphex Twin, Daniel Bell, Herbert, Redshape, Efdemin, Larry Heard, Ron Trent & Chez Damier, Jus-Ed, etc. etc. Label wise? Strictly Rhythm, Basic Channel, Underground Quality, Ostgut Ton, Nervous, Trax, Hospital, Good Looking, Sandwell District, Metalheadz, Metroplex, Ovum, Environ, and many many more. I know I will agonize over all those I left out, but you would need a website to list them all. OK, maybe 1 webpage. Better make that 2.

Where will you be DJing in the future?
Well, to be perfectly honest, I’ve never played out to an audience at an event, per se. I may be DJing at a party in Brooklyn later this month (Aug 2009). I’m also going to try to get a radio show up and running when I start university. Only time (and patience) will tell in this case. Let’s hope for the best!
